Kilroy Owns the Night: Day 31 (Mythical)

Mercury Quasar looked ready to murder me. Which, considering our brief acquaintance, wasn't entirely unexpected.
“You cost me my payday,” she growled.
“No need for violence.”
“I always have a need for violence.” She shoved me against the wall of my Dodge A100 Van. “Pay up or get beat up.”
I held my hands up. “How much?”
“25,000 credits.”
“I don’t have that kinda cash on me.” I held up my hands because her fist was drawn back. “But I have something worth more than that.”
She backed up with understandable skepticism. I opened the back of my van and retrieved a small box from a secret compartment. I handed it to her with a knowing smile. She opened it and her eyes widened.
“Behold,” I said. “The Mythical Coin of Krel.”
“This is priceless.” She eyed me. “What’s the catch, Kilroy?”
“No catch,” I said. “That should more than earn you 25,000 credits.”
“How do you know I won’t rob you of the rest of whatever you have in this junk heap?” she asked.
“Because you’d hate yourself in the morning.”
“I really wouldn’t, though.” She grinned. “Okay, we’re square. By the way, where did you send the Still?”
“It’s safe and secure on my home base.” I flashed my cockiest grin.
“You got the Encyclopedia and the Still?”
“Yep. Now, do I get the girl?”
“You’re a piece of work.”
I watched her walking away and then called out.
“Like I said. I own the night.”
She flipped me off.
